Sharon Taylor, got her hands dirty last weekend by joining members of Stevenage Rainbows, Brownies and Guides to plant bulbs, funded by the local neighbourhood forum, in time for Spring 2010 and to celebrate the centenary of Girlguiding. In a rare break from the stormy weather, more than 50 young girls turned out with their mums and dads to help plant the bulbs at the roundabout where Gunnells Wood Road meets Clovelly Way and Bridge Road West in Symonds Green.
Sharon said,
“It was great to see so many Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and their families planting the bulbs which will provide a fantastic spring display for our local community. Every year Stevenage roundabouts bloom, 2010 will be extra special and a wonderful way to celebrate the 100th birthday of Girlguiding.”
