Sharon welcomes action on First Capital Connect

Sharon Taylor, Labour’s Parliamentary candidate for Stevenage at the general election, has welcomed the news that First Capital Connect are taking action to address the problems with their service. Following a debate in the Houses of Parliament and various complaints from MP’s and rail users, First Capital Connect have held meetings with commuters and are now focusing on improving their service.

The complaints follow a difficult period for rail passengers, especially during the bad weather over the Christmas and New Year period and because of industrial action.

Sharon said:

“I know that many people in Stevenage and the surrounding areas have been let down by First Capital Connect. We have good transport links in the town, but problems with capacity, delays and cancellations make life difficult for passengers and are extremely frustrating. I’m pleased to hear that First Capital Connect are listening to passengers and trying to improve the service, but I would urge anyone who has had problems to get in touch with me and I will take their concerns directly to them.”
